Top Perm officials and Perm citizens express sincere and deepest condolence to the family and relatives of Bruce Adams.
Perm officials received a message from Sister City Louisville (USA) that Bruce Adams, ex-chairperson of Sister Cities of Louisville, Professor of the University of Louisville passed away on November 30.
Professor Bruce Adams started friendly relationships with Russia. It was he who first sent an e-mail message in 1992 inviting citizens of Perm to consider establishing a Sister City relationship.
Professor Adams specialized in the history of Russia, he taught a variety of courses in that area, including a survey of Russian history, Russian Cultural History, a seminar on the Russian revolutions, and classes on selected topics.
Professor Adams promoted university programs allowing a number of Perm graduate students to pursue Masters degrees at U of L in the fields of chemistry, biology, business, physics, and computer technology. He also advocated a number of programs which promoted Sister City relationships.
Many Perm citizens stayed at the Adams family while in Louisville. The Permians remember Bruce as a kind and intelligent person who devoted a great part of his life to developing Russian-American relationships.
